WILLAMSBURG, Va. — The Stony Brook track and field teams stood out in the 400 relay on Day 2 of the Colonial Relays.

Both the men's and women's squads produced victories in the event.

The men, with Matthew Cappock, Patrick Abel, Joshua Titus and Anthony Urbancik, posted a time of 42.37 to top runner-up Lynchburg (43.52).

The women, with Jaelyn Davis, Dana Cerbone, Akajia Atkins and Amanda Stead, posted a time of 47.03 to defeat runner-up George Mason (47.14).

"The 4x100 is always such a fun race," Stead said. "The relay squad was really determined to do well today and we came out with the win. We have a lot to improve on, but by championship season we will be ready."
