Track And Field Hosts First Ever Home Meet

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Jason Hunt posted wins in one individual event and two relays, and the women's team won all three relay events to lead the Stony Brook track and field team in the first home meet in school history on Sunday.

The Seawolves, who competed against Iona and Fairleigh Dickinson, captured the women's 4x1600m, 4x4 laps (177m a lap) and the 4x1 lap (177m a lap). In addition, Dana Shepherd won the 55m with a time of 7.11, while Corinne Leake won the 300m in 42.3. Nicola Baker also posted a win in the 600m with a time of 1:45.1.

In men's action, it was Jason Hunt leading the way for the Seawolves. Hunt won the high hurdles in a time of 7:47 and ran on the 4x1 lap and the 4x4 lap relays that each placed first.

Craig Gordon also posted a win for the Seawolves, running the 600m in 1:27.8 for first place. In field events, Joe Cardinale captured the shot put with a toss of 14.15m.

The Seawolves return to action on Jan. 12 at the Yale Invitational.
