Compliance Mission Statement
The Mission of the Stony Brook Compliance Office is to incorporate the expectations of the NCAA's principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct within the overall mission of the athletic department. As a result, the task of the Stony Brook Compliance Office is to coordinate, monitor and verify compliance with all NCAA, CAA, and University requirements. A major component of the Compliance Office is to educate athletics department staff members, coaches, student-athletes, friends of the program and the institution as a whole on NCAA rules through a variety of means. Maintaining this website is included in our educational opportunities as we remain committed to preventing NCAA violations and promoting a culture of compliance to the best of our abilities. As a member of the NCAA, the Stony Brook Athletic Department is committed to the principle of institutional control in a manner consistent with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, and CAA Conference.
