Dana Shepherd led the way for Stony Brook at the Monmouth Invitational as the Seawolves
opened their outdoor season on Sunday.
Shepherd won the 100m in 12.76 seconds, while teammate Tamieka Henry followed close
behind in second place with a time of 12.92.
Shepherd and Henry also teamed up with Nicola Baker and Kate Seaver in the 4x100m
relay to place sixth in 52.55 seconds.
Jenny Payne placed third in the 1500m with a time of 4:52.52, while
Jackie Berman ran 2:30.22 in the 800m to take fifth place.
On the men's side, Chris Hunt recorded the top individual finish, as his time of
52.53 in the 400m was good for fifth place. In the 1500m, Mike Thompson and Dave
deWolfe finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 1500m. Thompson ran the
1500m in 4:10.78, while deWolfe posted a time of 4:12.48.
The Seawolves compete at the West Point Invitational this Saturday.
