Stony Brook, N.Y. -
The Stony Brook women's tennis team fell just short against Quinnipiac on Monday afternoon, losing 4-3.
The Seawolves (7-6) posted wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots, and Esther Forrester won at No. 6, but SBU was unable to capture the doubles point against the Braves.
Martha Barrett defeated Stephanie Petzycki 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1, while Barbara Affertsholt earned a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory in the second slot. However it wasn't enough as the Braves won the No. 3-5 singles matches in straight sets and won all three doubles points.
Stony Brook returns to action on Wednesday at home against Iona at 3 p.m.
