The Stony Brook tennis team recorded its second straight sweep as the Seawolves won every match in both singles and doubles against Sacred Heart on Thursday afternoon.
The Seawolves women didn't drop a set in defeating the Pioneers. The women's team won, 7-0, while the men's team posted a 6-0 victory. The No. 3 men's singles match was called due to darkness.
In women's action, Stony Brook's Martha Barrett did not lose a game in winning both of her matches. Barrett teamed with Karen Hansen at No. 1 doubles to win 8-0, and she defeated Patricia Dacoy at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. The Seawolves dropped just one game in each of its other five singles matches to capture the win.
The men's team also cruised to an easy victory over the Pioneers. Jens Pillgram-Larsen won his No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-4, and teamed with Gareth Williams to win the No. 1 doubles match, 8-1. Egil Anonsen won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Philippe Amireault recorded a perfect 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 4 singles. No. 3 Williams dropped the first set, 6-7, but came back to capture the second, 6-4. That match was not finished due to darkness.
Both the men and women improve to 8-4 overall on the season with the wins.
