The Binghamton women's tennis team handed Stony Brook a 4-2 setback in an America East Conference dual match on Friday afternoon.
The Seawolves (3-5, 1-2 America East) won the doubles point for the early match lead. Patricia Gomez and Anne Cathrine Valle teamed for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, while the tandem of Georgia Bushell and Claire Shean won, 9-8, in the No. 3 spot. Karen Hansen and Carmie Zink lost, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles.
The Bearcats then won four singles matches to seal the win. Valle won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, but that was the only singles victory for Stony Brook. Shean's No. 6 singles match was not finished since the match was already decided.
