Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Heath Senour was named the Director of Compliance at Stony Brook University, Director of Athletics Jim Fiore announced on Tuesday. Senour will be responsible for all aspects of NCAA compliance for SB's 20 Division I sports.
"We are excited to welcome Heath into our Seawolves family," said Fiore. "His vast experiences in the compliance offices at both Oregon State and Oakland will prove beneficial for our compliance program for many years to come. Equally as important, Heath understands the vital role compliance plays in establishing and maintaining integrity in both the athletic and academic settings of a university."
Senour arrived at Stony Brook after spending the last year and a half as a compliance coordinator at Oregon State University. While at OSU, he assisted with all facets of the compliance office, including the implementation of new documentation and updated procedures and conducting rules education sessions for coaches and staff.
Before his time at OSU, Senour spent two and a half years as the compliance coordinator at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. At Oakland, he monitored eligibility, recruiting, financial aid and playing and practice seasons, provided rule interpretations to coaches, athletic administration and student-athletes and implemented new procedures to monitor and certify eligibility.
Senour began his career in athletics in 1997 when he spent one year as a graduate assistant for compliance/game management at Midwestern State University, before moving on to spend a year and a half as the director of compliance/academic advisor at the school.
A 1996 graduate of Robert Morris College with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Senour went on to earn his master's in the same concentration from Midwestern State University in 2002.
