The Stony Brook women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Colgate in Manilius, N.Y., on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders captured the double's point as Chloe Lipp and Emily Wenink defeated Patricia Gomez and Lauren Conching by a score of 8-2, while Jamie Madlow and Rebecca Smalley beat Olesya Ianovitch and Dana Braunschweiger 8-0. The Seawolves picked up their lone win of the day, as the team of Anne Cathrine Valle and Georgia Bushell won 9-8 at the number one doubles spot.
Colgate's Marissa Alikpala, Jackie Courture, and Chloe Lipp all won their singles matches in straight sets to clinch the win for the Raiders. Marissa Alikpala defeated Anne Cathrine Valle, 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles. Jackie Courture topped Georgia Bushell 6-3, 6-2 while Chloe Lipp beat Lauren Conching 6-3, 6-0.
Jaime Maldow won in three sets defeating Patricia Gomez by a score of 6-2, 6-7(4), 10-5, and Sheila Rao beat Olesga Ianovitch 8-1. Allison Stoloff won by default.
The Seawolves are in action this evening, taking on St. John's at 5 p.m.
