The Stony Brook women's tennis team dropped just one set while en route to five singles victories and a 5-1 victory over Hofstra at University Courts on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Seawolves evened their record at 7-7 this season.
Anne Cathrine Valle set the tone for the day for the Seawolves, earning a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles. Georgia Bushell cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot, while Lauren Conching pulled out the closest match of the day with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 win at No. 3. Victoria Vasile and Olesya Ianovitch each posted 6-2, 6-3 wins at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Stony Brook is back in action tomorrow afternoon with a pair of matches. The Seawolves will take on Albany at noon before playing New Hampshire at 3 p.m.
