The Stony Brook women's tennis team won its fourth match in the last five days with a 5-2 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday afternoon. With the win the Seawolves improved to 10-8 on the season.
The Seawolves continued their excellent play of late by taking four singles matches and the doubles point for the victory. Anne Cathrine Valle and Georgia Bushell earned the victory at No. 1 doubles, defeating the FDU team 8-5, while Lauren Conching and Victoria Vasile eased to a 8-0 victory at No. 2.
Valle had to retire in her match at No. 1 singles, but Bushell pulled out a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 victory at No. 2, and Conching (6-0, 6-1), Vasile (6-0, 6-0) and Ianovitch (6-0, 6-0) breezed to wins at the third, fourth and fifth singles spots, respectively.
The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they take on Quinnipiac at 2 p.m.
