The Stony Brook women's tennis team came up short against Quinnipiac on Tuesday afternoon, falling 7-0 to the Bobcats. With the loss the team drops its record to 10-9 this season.
Stony Brook put up a fight in doubles play as Anne Cathrine Valle and Georgia Bushell fell 8-3 at No. 1 and Lauren Conching and Victoria Vasile were outlasted 8-5 at No. 2.
Quinnipiac stormed past the Seawolves in singles action to complete the sweep. Valle played No. 1 and had to retire in the second set, while Bushell was bested 6-0, 7-6 at No. 2. Conching fell 6-1, 6-2 at the three spot ,Vasile lost 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 and the Seawolves were forced to default at No.'s 5 and 6.
Stony Brook is back in action when they take on Fordham at University Courts on Thursday at 3 p.m.
