Stony Brook, N.Y. -
The Stony Brook women's tennis team was forced to default three matches and fell 5-2 to Fordham on Thursday afternoon at University Courts. With the loss the Seawolves' record evened at 10-10.
The Seawolves continued to play with a depleted lineup as they had to default three matches due to an imcomplete lineup. Anne Cathrine Valle teamed with Georgia Bushell to win 9-7 at No. 1 doubles, but Lauren Conching and Victoria Vasile were downed 8-6 at the second spot and SB defaulted at No. 3 to give Fordham the doubles point.
Valle (6-1, 6-2) and Bushell (6-1, 6-3) eased to victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but Conching and Vasile fell at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, and the Seawolves were forced to default the bottom two singles matches.
Stony Brook is back in action on Tuesday at 3 p.m. when the Seawolves take on Queens College in the last match of the regular season.
