Chris Hunt, Joe Cardinale, Jackie Nunez and Abigail Nathaniel each captured individual titles, while Brian Farrell set a new school record in the 3,000-meters to lead Stony Brook outdoor track and field at the Iona Spring Classic.
Chris Hunt won the 600-meters in 1:21.90 and Joe Cardinale won the discus with a throw of 146'05' to lead the men. Other top finishes from the Seawolves came from Constantinos Sevdinoglou (137'01") and Ken Guerinas (131'11"), who were second and third in the discus, respectively. Sevdinoglou also took second in the shot put (42'11"). Farrell finished fourth in the 3000-meters in a new school record of 8:30.10, while the sprint medley relay team of Omar Moore, Kereem Vargas, Chris Hunt and Steve Katz won the event in 3:39.85.
On the women's side, Nathaniel won the long jump (16'03") while Nunez captured the mile in 5:02.25. Corinne Leake finished second in the 200-meters (25.92), Leonora took second in the 3000-meters (10:01.32) and Angie Washburn finished third in the 600-meters (1:43.51).
