Question : How do you decide who's the athlete of the week? Do they win
something for getting picked?
Answer: Hi Dave - Great to hear from you and thanks for the inquiry.
To briefly answer your question, the Stony Brook University Student-Athlete
of the Week is selected by a weekly vote of our media relations staff.
Prior to formally announcing the winner, the nomination is approved by one
of our senior administrators for final confirmation.
The Stony Brook University Student-Athlete of the Week award honors the
best athletic performance from the previous week. The winners do not win
anything tangible at the time of the announcement, however, they do receive
an acknowledgement and plaque at our year end Student-Athlete Awards
Banquet in May.
Thank you again for your question and please let us know if you have any
further comments or questions......Go Seawolves!
Sincerely,
Jim
