Congratulations on advancing your sports programs and giving us local folks a chance to see some good college sports(Mens and Womens), my kids enjoy watching also. Now on to my question, does SBU have any plans(near or distant future) to start a womens field hockey program? My daughter is currently attending high school(honors student) and was interested in going to SBU.

Great question. First, let me begin by thanking you for your support of Stony Brook Athletics. It is exciting to hear that community members are enjoying and supporting the Seawolves. With support from people like yourself, the athletics program will only continue to grow and flourish.

Now for your question. At this time, there are no immediate plans to add field hockey to our athletics program in large part due financial constraints and our unyielding commitment to investing in our existing programs in order to experience success. That being said, we are always evaluating the vision for Stony Brook athletics and are in the midst of developing a five-year strategic plan for athletics which will include conversations about adding sports to our program.
