Women's Tennis Rolls To 6-1 Win Over UConn

Hanover, N.H. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the year with a 6-1 win over Connecticut. The women's team won two-of-three doubles matches and five-of-six singles matches in the win.

The Seawolves grabbed the doubles point, after the team of Hana Chovanova and Sandy Wijeratne won 8-5 and Victoria Vovsha and Victoria Vasile won at number three doubles 9-7.

The rode the momentum into singles, as Anne Catherine Valle won at No. 1, 6-4, 6-0, Chovanova won at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2, Wijeratne rolled at line three, 6-1, 6-3, Erica Federgreen outlasted her opponent at number five singles, 6-7, 6-4, 10-7, and Vovsha won at line six, 9-7.

The Seawolves return to action on Saturday, March 11 when they hit the road to take on Colgate.
