Track and Field competes at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - Stony Brook's track and field teams competed at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday evening. Sophomore Jillian Fauser (Northport, N.Y.) finished second in her section in the 500-meter dash and sophomore Patricia Barry (Tipperary, Ireland) placed third in her section in the 3,000-meter run. Freshman Chris Pellicano (Englishtown, N.J.) came out on top in the 300-meter dash for the men's squad in his section.

Fauser completed the 300m in 1:23.21, the top time for the Seawolves this year. Barry ran the 3,000m in 10:30.06, the third best time at the event. Junior Leanne Skrabacz (West Seneca, N.Y.) improved her mile time by more than nine seconds, running a 5:26.91.

Prior to Pellicano's 38.73 in the 300m, junior Brandon Leung (Rego Park, N.Y.) ran an impressive 1:59.53 in the 800m, the fourth best time on Saturday evening.

Junior Shamell Forbes (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) and freshman Robert Vietri (Bay Shore, N.Y.) posted top-five finishes in section two in the 800-meter run.

Sophomore Drew Dillingham (Riverhead, N.Y.) ran a 9:04.64 in the 3,000-meter run.

Both squads return to action on Friday, January 29 when they compete in Boston at the Terrier Invitational.
