Track Competes At IC4A/ECAC Championships On Saturday

March 6, 2010

Boston, Mass. - Three different Seawolves competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday afternoon. Senior Daire Bermingham (Portmarnock, Ireland) set a school record in the mile to lead all Stony Brook runners. Bermingham broke senior Alex Felce's (Stroud, England) record, set a few meets ago. In the ECAC's, senior Lisa Voltaire (Stockholm, Sweden) will also move on to a final as she took third in the mile (4:54.14). The top two finishers in each of the three heats plus the next four fastest times advance as Voltaire went through on time.

Bermingham ran a 4:06.44 in the fourth heat, advancing him to the 10-man final tomorrow. Felce took second in the second heat of the race, but his time was not good enough to make it to the final. The top finisher in each of the five heats plus the next five fastest times move on to the final.

The IC4A Championships are being held at Boston University while the ECAC's are being ran at the Reggie Lewis Center at Northeastern.
