Andrew Hunsinger has been named assistant track & field coach at Stony Brook University, head coach Andy Ronan announced on Friday.
Hunsinger joined the program after spending the Fall of 2010 as a volunteer assistant at Vermont where he primarily worked with the jumpers.
From 2008-10, he served as interim head coach at SUNY Oswego. His time with the Lakers produced 15 school records, five SUNYAC athletes of the year and a provisional Division III qualifier in the men's triple jump.
Before being named interim head coach, Hunsinger served a year as an assistant coach at Oswego.
Hunsinger is a 2007 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, where he was captain of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams, holding a pair of school records. He earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in coaching of track and field.
