College Station, Texas - Stony Brook University can lay claim to a Track All-American, as senior Lucy Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) finished third in the 3000 at the NCAA Indoor Championships at Texas A&M on Saturday.

Van Dalen, who ran the fastest 3000 entering the Championships, completed the race in 9:14.12. Now an All-American in cross country and outdoor track, Van Dalen ran the majority of the race among the top five.

Jordan Hasay of Oregon and Sheila Reid of Villanova finished one and two, respectively, less than a second ahead of Van Dalen.

For her efforts, Van Dalen helped Stony Brook earn six points toward the team title.
