Track & Field competes at Bryant Tri-Meet

Smithfield, R.I. - Junior Hayley Green (Wellington, New Zealand) and freshman Olivia Burne (Palmerston North, New Zealand) each posted ECAC qualifying times at the Bryant Tri-Meet on Tuesday.

Both ladies competed in the 3000 as Green ran a 9:44.34 and Burne recorded a 9:53.12. Green and Burne finished one and two in the long-distance event.

Also finishing first for the Seawolves were junior LaQuashia Hall (New York, N.Y.) in 400 (1:00.03), junior Mary O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland) in the 800 (2:18.12) and junior Kristal Conklin (Middletown, N.Y.) in the 1500 (4:43.91).

Stony Brook's 4x400 relay won in a time of 4:17.80.

The men's team earned multiple first-place finishes. Sophomore Stephen Reilly (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) won the 100 dash (11.36). Junior Alex Aronis (East Northport, N.Y.) took first in the 800 (1:59.65) followed by sophomore Michael Lopizzo (Northport, N.Y.) (1;59.77). Freshman Daniel Denis (Bayport, N.Y.) won the 3000 (8:47.60) and the trio of senior Brian Crew (Galt, Calif.), freshman Rico Dutton (Chantilly, Va.) and freshman Anthony Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) took one, two and three in the shot put.

The men's 4x800 relay also posted a victory (8:12.40).

The outdoor season this weekend at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University.
