The Stony Brook women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to the Army Black Knights on Friday at West Point's Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
Army opened the match by sweeping the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. But the Seawolves bounced back in singles as junior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) and freshman Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
The Black Knights then won at the No. 5 and 6 singles spots to take a 3-2 lead but senior Katherine Hanson (Smithtown, N.Y.) rallied for a three-set victory to tie up the match.
But Della Taylor rallied for a three-set victory over junior Chloe Pike (Bristol, England) to secure the victory for Army.
