Stony Brook, N.Y. - Last weekend, Stony Brook student-athletes once again made their presence known in the community, taking part in the annual Walk for Beauty, Stony Brook Village's breast cancer awareness event.

Over 125 student-athletes representing all 20 teams participated in the Walk for Beauty, cheering on runners and walkers.

Walk for Beauty began in 1994 as a community effort to raise breast cancer awareness and to establish a fund providing wigs and prostheses for caner patients. Since its inception, Walk for Beauty has raised over $1 million for breast cancer research at Stony Brook University. All event proceeds go toward research and patient support.
