Stony Brook, N.Y. - In conjunction with the CBSSports.com College Network, Stony Brook Athletics has launched the new and improved GoSeawolves.org, which has received a fresh new look and has been designed with the intent to give fans easy access to all things Seawolves.
"As we continue to achieve success and grow our fan base, it is important to stay current on best practices for online communication because the Internet is a powerful medium that reaches a worldwide audience," Stony Brook Director of Athletics Jim Fiore said. "GoSeawolves.org has undergone a transformation into a fan-friendly, visually pleasing website that remains the best online source for Stony Brook Athletics information. Through news & information, video, social media and powerful graphic design, our supporters will have the full Seawolves Athletics experience at their fingertips."
The new website will not only still deliver news and information, but it will also now feature sharp student-athlete graphics between stories that are built around the department's five descriptive words - commitment, passion, pride, respect and swagger. There are also easy-to-find tabs for fans to purchase tickets and Seawolves merchandise. Fans will also never be confused as to when a Seawolves Athletics event will take place because the athletic events schedule will live on the bottom of every page.
The website will also be social media friendly, thanks to a partnership with Tagboard, which has developed a hashtag aggregator for #Seawolves, which has been embedded as one of the main GoSeawolves.org tabs. Fans can now engage and monitor the conversation surrounding Stony Brook Athletics by using the hashtag #Seawolves when they are on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Vine and App.Net.
"We recognize that fans of Seawolves Athletics want to see bigger and better pictures, access tickets and merchandise easier and receive information about our events faster," said Thomas Chen, Stony Brook's Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. "In response, we have developed a website that delivers responsive imagery and is easy to navigate. We also recognize that much of our audience is driven by social media, and we expect that the addition of #Seawolves on our home page will help all of our constituents better engage in the Stony Brook Athletics conversation."
