Providence, R.I. - The Stony Brook men's and women's track and field teams combined for 11 top-three finishes Saturday at the Friar Invitational. Sophomore Karolina Blaszcynska won the women's high jump on a 1.42-meter leap, and freshman Jarrett Button placed first in the men's long jump at 6.30-meters.
Daneen Small placed second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes in 12.96 seconds and 27.01 seconds, respectively. Both times set new personal records for the sophomore. Freshman Kathryn Mazzucca clocked in at 13.29 for third in the 100-meters.
Junior Kate Pouder secured second in the women's 800-meters with a time of 2:15.55. Freshman Olivia Ritchie was right behind her in 2:16.33.
Sophomore Megan Liu tallied a 4.92-meter jump in the long jump, which was good for second overall.
Senior Robert Taylor and sophomore Alex Lopresti placed second and third, respectively, in the men's 400-meter dash. Taylor clocked in at 50.14, while Lopresti finished in 50.85.
Sophomore Tyler Keys was third in the 1,500-meters in a personal-best 4:03.22.
Stony Brook hosts the Wolfie Invite Saturday, April 19.
