Bronx, N.Y. -
The Stony Brook men's and women's indoor track & field teams opened 2016 with tri-meet victories at the Sean Atkinson Invitational Friday afternoon, as the Seawolves defeated Fairleigh Dickinson and Fordham in both men's and women's competition.

Coach Ronan's Take

"Today's meet was all about getting back into the swing of things ... the athletes and coaches both needed to get the holidays behind them and get fired up for the season. Now that we have knocked off most of the cobwebs and Christmas cookies, I expect we will get better week-by-week. That being said, we had some nice performances today. The top of the bunch would be Kaylyn Gordon winning the long jump and qualifying for the ECAC Championships in March. On the men's side, senior Tyler Keys had a solid run in the 1,000-meters. They were just some of the highlights from the Sean Atkinson Invitational."
