Stony Brook, N.Y. - Behind strong singles play, the Stony Brook women's tennis team blanked Hofstra, 7-0, Wednesday at University Courts.

The senior duo of Louise Badoche (Paris, France) and Becky Shtilkind (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted dominant singles victories over the Pride.  Badoche beat Ria Shah, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and Shtilkind followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Salini Jariwala, 6-0, 6-1.

Freshman Devanshi Bhimjiyani won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles over Sarah Catherine Herndon.  Junior Nadia Smergut (New York, N.Y.) finished with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.

Stony Brook (7-4) received doubles wins from Badoche/Smergut and sophomores Yana Nikoaleva (Thornhill, Ontario) and Elizabeth Tsvetkov (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

The Seawolves host NJIT Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
