Boston, Mass. The Stony Brook men's and women's track and field teams competed this weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University.
"This weekend was definitely a turning point in our season," said head coach
Andy Ronan. "Both teams produced quality performances.
"The men's 4x400 was a big highlight, all four guys ran great legs;
Wayne Williams deserves special mention producing a super anchor leg after having a spectacular 500m run earlier in the day.
"On the women's side
Kaylyn Gordon's win in long jump and runner-up spot in triple jump needs mention, as does
Christina Melian's 3000-meter performance and
Annika Sisson's mile performance. The three of them competed very well in their events.
"Finally, hats off to our women's 4x400 of
Mary Chimezie,
Shanee Grant,
Dara Smith and
Melissa Riback for just coming up short on the school record and ECAC standard with a time of 3:53.75," added Ronan.
