Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Stony Brook men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had a very strong showing at the Wolfie Invitational Saturday, April 22.
The Stony Brook men totaled for 283 points. Sacred Heart finished second with 97,Fordham 76, Marist 33,and Quinnipiac 4. The Seawolves women totaled 228.50. Quinnipiac placed second with 121, Sacred Heart 97, Fordham 57, Niagara 31, Marist 25.50, St. John's 18, and Hofstra 10.

Shane Harris broke the school record and qualified for the IC4A with their winning time of 42.25.
"Today went as well as expected considering the conditions. The weather wasn't really bad, but bad enough to hurt some of the athletes in terms of running fast," said head coach
Andy Ronan.
"We wanted to see our athletes compete hard and I walked away from the meet feeling good about what I saw," added Ronan.
"We still have some work to do, but we are very close to the level of performance we expect and that they will need to put forward at the America East Championships in two weeks," said Ronan.
Highlights
- Kaylyn Gordon won the women's triple jump marking 11.75m and won the women's long jump marking 5.29m
- Talia Guevara won the women's 5000m with a time of 17:22.31 and Alexandria Ortega took second with a time of 17:57.96.
- The Seawolves took the top three spot in the women's 1500m race. Annika Sisson won with a time of 4:31.83, Tiana Guevara took second with a time of 4:32.70, and Christine Eisenberg came in third with a time of 4:37.03
- The quartet of Chinque Thompson, Nikki Fogarty, Sarah Militano, and Kaylyn Gordon won the women's 4x100m relay with an ECAC qualifying time of 47.34
- Darian Sorouri won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:41.57
- Stony Brook had the two top runners in the women's 200m dash. Nikki Fogarty won with an ECAC qualifying time of 24.50 and Chinque Thompson took second with an ECAC qualifying time of 24.62.
- Kyle Kelly won the men's 800m with a time of 1:54.17 and Alex Lopresti took second with a time of 1:54.52.
- The Seawolves had four runners finish in the top five for the men's 400m dash. Wayne Williams won the race with an IC4A qualifying time of 48.61, Kevon White came in second with a time of 50.05, Sean Ideozu placed third with a time of 50.78, and Randy Maldon finished fourth with a time of 51.59.
- In the men's long jump the Seawolves had four top five finishers. Khadim Ndoye won marking 6.35m, Bradley Pierre placed second (6.19m) and Brendon Alerte and Eilon Silver-Frankel tied for third (6.12m).
- Bryce Hedman won the men's 5000m run with a time of 15:14.11.
- Stony Brook had the top two runners in the women's 800m. Holly Manning won with a time of 2:13.30 and Melissa Riback came in second with a time of 2:14.66
- Chris Biondi won the men's 1500m with a time of 4:01.12
- Mary Chimezie won the women's 400m dash with a time of 58.00
- Shane Harris won the men's 100m dash with an IC4A qualifying time of 10.95.
- Stony Brook had five top five finishers in the men's 3000m. Vann Moffett won with a time of 8:27.60. Michael Watts took second (8:29.60), Kevin Vinolas placed third (8:31.60), Greg Mangarelli finished fourth (8:33.50), and Cameron Avery came in fifth (8:34.80).
- The quartet of Ahmed Galal, Kevon White, Wayne Williams, and Shane Harris won the men's 4x100m relay with an IC4A time of 42.25
- Khadim Ndoye won the men's long jump marking 6.35m.
- The Seawovles took the top three spots in the men's 400m hurdles. Spencer Payton won with a time of 55.79, Christopher Quilla came in second with a time of 56.25, and Michael Thompson placed third with a time of 56.96.
- The quartet of Mary Chimezie, Chinque Thompson, Shanee Grant, and Melissa Riback won the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:56.37.
- The Seawolves had four top five finishers in the men's 200m dash. Wayne Williams came in first with an IC4A qualifying time of 21.99, Shane Harris placed third with an IC4A time of 22.07, Kevon White placed fourth with a time of 22.33, and Ahmed Galal finished fifth with a time of 22.52.
- Chinque Thompson won the women's 100m dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 11.80 and Sarah Militano came in second with a time of 12.26.
- The quartet of Shane Harris, Kevon White, Wayne Williams, and Sean Ideozu won the men's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:22.32
- The Seawolves took the top three spots in the men's triple jump. Bradley Pierre took first marking 13.09m, Brendon Alerte came in second marking 13.08m, and Khadim Ndoye placed third marking 12.69m.
- Lauren Glancy came in second in the women's triple jump marking 11.08m and Taylor Jubilee placed fourth marking 10.51m.
- Bradley Pierre came in second in the men's long jump (6.19), Brendon Alerte placed third (6.12), and Eilon Silver-Frankel finished fourth (6.12).
- Joseph Stanco came in second in the men's discus marking 38.19m
- Dana Husband finished second in the women's high jump marking 1.65m
- The quartet of Christopher Quilla, Jason Marshal, Ahmed Galal, and Randy Maldon finished second in the men's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:25.30
- Lauren Glancy and Taylor Jubliee tied for second in the women's long jump marking 5.14m
- The Seawolves had three top five finishers in the women's 100m hurdles. Courtney Warden came in second with an ECAC qualifying time of 13.84, Nikki Fogarty placed third with an ECAC qualifying time of 14.47, and Alyssa Oviasogie finished fourth with a time of 15.18.
- Ben McDermott placed third in the men's 5000m (15:20.13) and Victor Garifo came in fourth (15:25.61)

- The quartet of Dara Smith, Sarah Militano, Moriah Blackman, and Nikki Fogarty came in third in the women's 4x400m relay with a time 4:08.53

- The quartet of Joelle Wright, Analise Kirby, Kaitlyn Hebert, and Cameryn Miller placed fifth in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 4:12.82
- Sarah Militano came in fourth in the women's 200m dash (25.20), Moriah Blackman placed fifth (25.40), Joelle Wright and Courtney Warden finished sixth (25.50), and Mary Chimezie placed eighth (25.54).

- Jason Marshall placed sixth in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.54 and Sean Ideozu came in seventh with a time of 22.73.
- Cameryn Miller finished sixth in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 16.02 and Paige Clark placed eighth with a time of 16.16.
