BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Stony Brook softball stretched its winning streak to three games on Wednesday afternoon, topping LIU Brooklyn, 9-1, in five innings at LIU Field.
Reigning America East Rookie of the Week
Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) went 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBI's, while also earning her third victory of the season in the circle.

Notes
- The Seawolves scored five runs in the first inning, which is the second most runs they've scored in an opening inning so far this year.
- Stony Brook had 12 hits in total – its third-highest amount in a game this year. The Seawolves have recorded double-digit hit totals in four contests so far in 2017.
- Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) helped her own cause in the top of the first, blasting a two-run home run to deep left-center. Over the last three games, the freshman is 8-for-11 at the plate and has recorded two wins and a save in the circle.
- Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) chipped in with a two-run homer of her own in the top of the first. The long ball is the first of her collegiate career. Craig went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.
- Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) and Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) both recorded two hits in the win.
- Maddy Neales (Orange, Calif.) tossed the final three outs on the mound. She's allowed just three runs in her last 5.0 innings in the circle.
