Pechin's Home Run Not Enough, Seawolves Fall to Ohio

HARRISONBURG, VA. – The Stony Brook softball team completed the final day of the James Madison Tournament falling to Ohio.    
 
Game 1: Ohio 10, Stony Brook 3
  • Stony Brook struck first scoring in the bottom of the first. Jourdin Hering (Federal Way, Wash.) lead off the inning with a single up the middle and then stole second base. Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) doubled to right center scoring Hering.     
  • The Seawolves added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning. Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) got things going with a single to third base and stealing second base. Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.) then sent one over the left field to make the score 3-0.
  • Ohio cut Stony Brook's lead to one in the top of the fourth adding two runs on three hits.  
  • The Bobcats tacked on five runs off of seven hits in the top of the fifth to lead the Seawolves 7-3.
  • Ohio added to their lead in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs on four hits.

The Seawolves will host St. John's on Wednesday, March 21st at 2:30 p.m.
