STONY BROOK, N.Y. – No. 1 Stony Brook women's lacrosse won its sixth-straight America East Conference championship on Sunday afternoon at LaValle Stadium, topping Albany by the final score of 22-14.
With the win, the Seawolves (19-0, 7-0 AE) have earned an automatic bid into the 2018 Women's Lacrosse NCAA Tournament. Stony Brook will find out seeding/opponent information tonight at 9:30 p.m. during the
NCAA Selection Show – which will be streamed live on NCAA.com.

"I'm really proud of our team, winning a conference championship is not an easy thing. Albany was on its game today, so I tip my cap to them – I thought they competed well. Our leadership had to step up and emerge, and I'm really excited for our seniors. This was another great day for our program, and it gets us one step closer to our overall goal."
HIGHLIGHTS
- Taryn Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) paced the Stony Brook offense, scoring two goals to go along with a career-high seven assists for nine total points. She assisted on five of Stony Brook's 12 goals in the first half of action.
- Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) had a team-high seven goals to go along with one assist for eight total points. She attempted 14 total shots, which ties her 2018 season high.
- Courtney Murphy (Shirley, N.Y.) added five goals and one assist for six points of her own. The redshirt senior now has six-straight game scoring five or more goals.
- Ally Kennedy (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored three times to go along with three helpers for six total points, and Samantha DiSalvo (Lynbrook, N.Y) three more goals in the win. Both DiSalvo and Kennedy recorded six draw controls, as well.
- Anna Tesoriero (Huntington, N.Y.) made six more saves, improving her record to 19-0 in 2018.
- Stony Brook assisted on 12 of 22 goals, tallying double-digit assists in 14 contests now so far in 2018.
- The Seawolves won 20 of 38 draws, and outshot Albany 35-27.
