BOULDER, Colo. – The
No. 4/6 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team came out flying in its season opener against No. 13/14 Colorado, topping the Buffaloes 15-5 on Friday afternoon at Colorado's Indoor Practice Facility.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Joe Spallina
"I'm really happy for our team. This group has worked hard through the preseason and understands that they have something to prove. With this being our first game, we needed to get off to a quick start and we did that which set the tone for the game. Defensively, we were locked in. Our goalie was world-class and I thought offensively we did some great things. We shift all of our focus to another top-25 team in Denver."
