STONY BROOK, N.Y.- Led by stellar pitching and timely hitting, the Seawolves took down Fairfield and Bryant on day one of the Stony Brook Invitational. The Seawolves defeated the Stags 5-2, and the Bulldogs 8-2. With the victories, the team has won seven straight.

GAME 1: STONY BROOK 5, FAIRFIELD 2
- The Seawolves got on the board in the bottom of the first after Katelyn Corr (Suffield, Conn.) singled, advanced to third on a double by Melissa Rahrich (Brighton, Colo.) and was brought home on an error by the shortstop making it 1-0.
- Stony Brook added a pair in the bottom of the third after the team loaded the bases and Alina Lance (New Athens, Ill.) brought home two on an RBI single making it 3-0.
- Rahrich homered in the bottom of the fourth making it 4-0.
- The Stags got their first run in the top of the fifth when a leadoff single eventually came around to score on a fielder's choice making it 4-1.
- The Seawolves made it 5-1 after Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) led off with a double and advanced to third on a groundout by Taylor Pechin (Harrington, Del.), Lindsey Osmer (Martinez, Calif.) drove in Rivera on a groundout.
- Fairfield added its last run of the game in the top of the seventh after a leadoff single eventually came around to score on a sac fly.
NOTES VS. FAIRFIELD
- Rahrich pitched all seven innings in the circle, only giving up the two runs.
- Rahrich picked up her third victory on the season.
GAME 2: STONY BROOK 8, BRYANT 2
- The Seawolves scored three in the top of the third that started after Lance singled, advanced to second a groundout, Corr walked, and Rahrich reached on an error to load the bases. Rivera then brought in Lance and Corr on a RBI single. Riley Craig (Thornton, Colo.) then brought in Rahrich on a RBI double making it 3-0.
- Stony Brook tacked on another run in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch making it 4-0.
- The Seawolves put the game away in the top of the fifth in a four run inning. The inning started after Craig led off with a single, Osmer doubled, and Ally Dabroski (Cedar Grove, N.J.) brought in Craig on an RBI single making it 5-0.
- The scoring continued in that inning after the team loaded the bases, and Corr brought home one on a RBI single making it 6-0.
- Rahrich completed the scoring driving in two on a RBI single making it 8-0.
- Bryant scored a pair in the fifth, that wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
NOTES VS. BRYANT
- Shelbi Denman (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked all seven innings in the circle, only giving up the two runs.
- Denman picked up her third victory on the season.
