Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 14 Stony Brook Falls to No. 1 Maryland in NCAA Second Round

COLLEGE PARK, Md.  – The No. 14 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team saw its 2019 season come to a close on Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 1 Maryland by a score of 17-8 in the second round of the NCAA tournament at Capital One Field.

QUOTING HEAD COACH Joe Spallina
"First of all, congratulations to Maryland. They are the gold standard in our sport…They are an incredible team and you're not going to beat an incredible team unless you have a complete effort across the board. I'm proud of our kids. This was a season where we started off rough and things weren't looking so hot and obviously our senior class was a big part of us circling the wagon to get things right…So I want to thank our seniors. They are the heart and soul of our program and they've been through everything with us."
