STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University Athletics Department has announced a linear television agreement with SNY for 13 men's and women's basketball games during the 2021-22 campaign. Both the Seawolves' men's and women's basketball teams were picked as the America East preseason favorites in their respective sports. The women's basketball team is set to appear on SNY seven times and the men's team is slated to play on SNY six times this season.
"This expanded partnership with SNY is an important example of our commitment to increasing exposure for our institution. SNY gives us a powerful linear television platform upon which to shine an even brighter spotlight on Stony Brook," said Stony Brook Director of Athletics
Shawn Heilbron.
Stony Brook's first appearance on SNY comes on Saturday, December 4, when the men's basketball team goes head-to-head with tri-state area foe Wagner at 6:31 p.m. The Seawolves' women's basketball team plays their first game on SNY on Tuesday, December 7, against the reigning MAAC Champions Marist at 7 p.m.
With both teams being selected preseason favorites in the America East, it marked the first time since the 2010-11 season (Boston University) the same America East school was picked first in both the men's and women's basketball preseason polls.
On the men's side, graduate guard
