STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team will host the America East Tournament riding high from another unbeaten league regular-season title.
The Seawolves head into next week's playoffs on a 52-game conference winning streak courtesy of a 18-7 win against UMBC on Saturday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
Taryn Ohlmiller, one of the pregame Senior Day honorees, tallied eight goals — one shy of matching the program record shared by
Courtney Murphy (2016) and Demmianne Cook (2012).
Stony Brook (12-2, 8-0 AE) hosts an America East semifinal game on Thursday.
The Seawolves will have a repeat matchup against UMBC thanks to Vermont beating UMass Lowell later Saturday.
The Seawolves' only losses this season have come at No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Syracuse. They have won eight straight America East regular-season titles.
