STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook University Athletics Department has announced a linear television agreement with SNY for 16 men's and women's basketball games during the 2022-23 season. The Seawolves' 16-game package is the largest linear television deal in program history.
"One of the driving forces in our move to the CAA was the opportunity to showcase Stony Brook University on a larger scale, and our partnership with SNY helps us do just that. Working closely with our media consultant CSMG, we now have the most expansive linear television deal in program history with additional opportunities on the horizon," said Stony Brook Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron.
The Seawolves are set to make their first appearance this season on SNY on Saturday, December 3, when the men's basketball team takes on Ivy League foe Yale at 6:31 p.m. Stony Brook women's basketball team plays its first game on SNY on Wednesday, December 7, at 7 p.m., against another Ivy League opponent in Columbia.
Men's basketball's Frankie Policelli and Tyler Stephenson-Moore return to lead Stony Brook's offense. The two combined for more than 400 points last season; Stephenson-Moore led the scoring from beyond the arc, shooting 44.8 percent while Policelli knocked down a career-high 72 field goals.
On the women's side, Anastasia Warren returns to lead the Stony Brook offense as one of four players who averaged double figures in scoring a season ago at 12 points per game. Gigi Gonzalez returns to direct the Seawolves' offense as she finished with just under four assists per game last season.
