MANCHESTER, Conn. — The Stony Brook tennis team was able to put itself into good positions throughout the night at Big East foe UConn, but the host's pace proved to be too much as the Seawolves fell 6-1 in their first of two in the state this weekend.
Stony Brook came close to sweeping the top two singles matches of the night, as
Mathilde Sreeves battled from a set down to win in the No. 1 position and Loreto Villalba Rubio had her opponent on the ropes at No. 2 with a set lead.
With the loss, Stony Brook drops to 1-3 as its non-conference slate rolls on.
