Strong Doubles Effort Pushes Women's Tennis to Win over Fairfield

Box Score MILFORD, Conn. — After a strong doubles push to begin the match, the Stony Brook tennis program rode that momentum to victory to snap its three-match losing skid on Saturday night, knocking off Fairfield 4-3 at the Milford Indoor Tennis Complex.

Mathilde Sreeves and Loretto Villalba Rubio combined for the No. 1 doubles win and Chandrika Joshi and Kristine Theys teamed up for the No. 2 doubles victory to secure the point.

In singles, Rubio, Theys and Joshi all secured their second singles victories in as many matches, winning at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 to clinch the team win.

UP NEXT
The road swing continues next weekend in Rhode Island, as the Seawolves head to the University of Rhode Island for a 3:30 p.m., first serve on Friday afternoon. This is followed up by an 11 a.m., match on Saturday with Brown.
