Tennis Win Streak Halted Against LIU

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook women's tennis team saw its winning streak stopped at three on Sunday afternoon, falling to LIU at the University Courts.

Chandrika Joshi was able to play well for the Seawolves in singles play, holding a set lead and an advantage in the second before LIU secured its fourth and clinching point of the afternoon. 

Stony Brook had won three in a row against Wagner, Hofstra and Binghamton and held a 4-1 series advantage over LIU Brooklyn entering the day. Today was the first match between the two schools since the Long Island University joining.

"LIU is a quality team with a lot of depth. We did have our share of chances, but they played the crucial points better than we did today," head coach Gary Glassman.

UP NEXT
The Seawolves enter their final weekend of regular season play next weekend, hosting Queens College at Noon on Friday before heading to St. John's on Saturday.
