DES MOINES, Iowa — Kristine Theys was able to secure a straight-set victory at No. 2 Singles but the Stony Brook women's tennis team dropped its MVC Quarterfinal matchup with fourth-seeded Valparaiso 4-1 on Friday morning.

Theys was able to earn a 6-2, 6-3 victory to earn the Seawolves their first point of the day but three other singles results went against fifth-seeded Stony Brook after Valpo took the doubles point earlier in the day.

Sara Annamaria Medved earned a first-set victory at No. 6 but her match was called after the deciding point had been won.
