WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Stony Brook tennis team continued its fall campaign this past weekend, Sept. 23-25, at the West Point Invitational, hosted by Army.
 
Kristi Boro glistened in her second weekend of action for the Seawolves, as the freshman collected a team-high three victories in the Flight B draw of singles play. After not dropping a single set in the first three matches, Boro was defeated by fellow freshman, Natlia Aruj of Binghamton University in the semifinals.

The squad was also led by Loreto Villalba-Rubio, who secured two dominating wins in her relentless effort to the quarterfinals. The graduate came up just short of the final four, falling 6-4 and 6-1 in the semifinals. Shortly after, Villalba-Rubio returned to the court in doubles action and seized another win with Kristine Theys, but the tandem would drop their round of 16 matchup against Syracuse University.
