WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Stony Brook tennis team (4-3, 1-0 CAA) knocked off the Monmouth Hawks, 5-2, on the road on Saturday night, picking up its first-ever CAA victory.
The Seawolves were introduced to CAA play with a win.
Stony Brook fared well in its doubles matches, sweeping the point. Freshman
Kristi Boro and senior
Mathilde Sreeves won their doubles match, 7-5. Senior
Kristine Theys and freshman
Debby Mastrodima won their doubles match, 6-3.
The Seawolves picked up four singles victories in the match. After winning their doubles match, Boro and Sreeves both swept their respective singles matches. Graduate
Loreto Villalba-Rubio and junior
Chandrika Joshi went the distance in their respective singles matches and both came away with wins.
