WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Stony Brook tennis team opened its 2023 spring season with a, 4-3, victory over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday afternoon at a neutral site at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
Freshman
Kristi Boro, senior
Mathilde Sreeves, graduate
Loreto Villalba-Rubio, and junior
Chandrika Joshi each earned a pair of wins on the day, with Boro and Sreeves combining for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles before taking straight set victories in their respective single matches.
Senior
Kristine Theys led the way with a straight-set victory in No. 1 singles. Rubio and Joshi followed with straight-set wins in No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Villalba-Rubio and Joshi combined for a 6-1 win in No. 3 doubles.
