WEST POINT, N.Y – The Stony Brook tennis team took on the Villanova Wildcats on the road on Friday afternoon and fell, 4-1.
 
The squad earned their point in doubles, as the squad picked up two victories during the tandem play. After capturing a doubles victory yesterday, the duo of senior Kristine Theys and freshman Debby Mastrodima followed with a thrilling 7-6 victory today. 

Then, junior Chandrika Joshi and senior Mathilde Sreeves, who also picked up victories yesterday against Towson, took the court and contributed a 6-2 victory, giving Stony Brook the point.

The Seawolves were unable to capture a victory in singles play, giving Villanova the 4-1 victory.

"All the credit to Villanova this afternoon. We won a tough doubles point, but they came out more focused in singles. They played well and did a good job of capitalizing on our mistakes," head coach Gary Glassman said. 
 
NEXT UP
Stony Brook will return to the court Saturday, March 25, to host their first ever CAA match in program history and their first home match of the season. The match is set to begin at noon.
