No. 5 Tennis Falls in CAA Quarterfinals with No. 4 Elon

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The Stony Brook tennis team (11-8, 4-2 CAA) had their CAA Championship Tournament come to an end in the Quarterfinals on Friday, as the 5-seeded Seawolves fell 4-0 to the No. 4 seed Elon University (16-6, 4-1 CAA) at the Macksey Tennis Center on the campus of William & Mary University.

After dropping both doubles matches to fall 1-0 heading to singles, the Seawolves had two different student-athletes earn a first-set victory. Graduate Loreto Villalba-Rubio and junior Chandrika Joshi captured their first-set but both matches were called after the deciding point had been won.

The Seawolves close their season with an 11-8 overall record after advancing to the Quarterfinals of the conference tournament, marking their first-ever CAA Championships appearance and win in program history by defeating No. 12 Towson University, 4-0.
