WEST POINT, N.Y. – Stony Brook tennis finished off its second weekend of the fall season on Sunday, completing its third day of the West Point Invite from the Malek Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y.
Freshman
Darian Perfiliev won a pair of matches in singles play, reaching the Flight C quarterfinals in the process.
RESULTS SUMMARY
- In the main singles draw, Perfiliev won the 10-point tiebreaker for a 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 10-6 victory in the round of 32 before battling to a 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) win in the round of 16.
- She battled to a tiebreaker in the second set before falling in the quarterfinals.
- Cornelia Bruu-Syversen and Chandriki Joshi each grabbed 8-5 victories in the Flight B consolation round.
- Aradhana Jayakrishna also rallied for an 8-5 victory in her consolation match.
- Mia Palladino won the tiebreaker in the consolation round, battling to a 9-8 (7-5) victory
- Stony Brook suffered tough results in the doubles draw, as it was unable to record a victory.
- Stony Brook totaled a 3-0 singles record for Sunday's final day.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
- The third set was played as a first-to-10 tiebreaker in singles play, with each point adding one to a player's score.
- Each consolation match was a single set played to eight games.

The team showed a lot of resilience after a weekend with rain delays, bouncing back from a tough start on Friday."

After a weekend off, Stony Brook will compete at the ITA Regionals from Columbia University in New York City from Oct. 6-8, with individuals getting the chance to qualify for the Super Regional, which will be held Oct. 20-22.
