Mastrodima and Lobo-Corral Take Home Victories; Stony Brook Falls in Battle of Long Island

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Stony Brook tennis team was defeated in a 5-2 scoreline against Hofstra on Saturday afternoon.

Stony Brook secured a pair of singles victories from freshman Elena Lobo-Corral and sophomore Debby Mastrodima.

"We had our chances in doubles today but couldn't close it," said head coach Thiago Dualiby. "In singles, we unfortunately had to deal with some injuries this week and Hofstra handled the really difficult weather conditions better today. We look forward to recovering, learning from it and keep improving."

UP NEXT 
Stony Brook returns to the court next Saturday for a home matchup against Queens College. Matches are scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
